Hey there, folks! Dan Hilgen here from Red Haven Ranch Metalworks. If you’ve ever wondered about the process behind creating bespoke metal pieces for our amazing clients, buckle up—I’m about to take you on a journey through our workshop.
Let’s dive into the magic that goes on behind the scenes. Picture this: a client comes to us with a unique idea, like the Sasquatch-shaped bottle openers we just crafted. Now, that’s the kind of challenge that gets our creative juices flowing!
First things first, we create the design. With precision and accuracy, our daughter Danielle, the design guru here, lays out the Sasquatch design on the computer. Once we’re happy with the design, it’s time to fire up our STV CNC SparX 4800 plasma cutting table and let the Hypertherm Powermax 65 plasma cutter do its thing. This table can handle up to a 5×10 sheet of metal—perfect for bringing those larger-than-life ideas to reality. The sparks fly as the cutter slices through the metal, tracing the contours of our hairy friend.
But we’re not done yet! To give our creations that sleek finish, we’ve got not one, not two, but three different machines for media blasting. This step smooths out any rough edges and ensures that every inch is primed for perfection.
Now, onto the colors! Our home-built spray booth with a trusty fan ensures a controlled environment for the powder coating process. With our double oven, we bake the powder-coated pieces, locking in that vibrant color and durability that’ll last a lifetime.
But what’s metal without a solid weld? Our Lincoln 180 dual welder, using a mix gas, brings everything together. It’s the glue that holds our creations in place, ensuring strength and longevity.
And there you have it—a glimpse into the intricate process of crafting bespoke metal pieces here at Red Haven Ranch Metalworks. Every project is a labor of love, from concept to creation, and seeing the delight on our clients’ faces makes it all worth it. Whether it’s a Sasquatch bottle opener or a custom piece of art, we’re always ready to turn your ideas into metal masterpieces. Speaking of which, our latest creation, these Sasquatch bottle openers, are available for just $15, bringing a touch of whimsy and functionality to your home bar. Cheers to creativity and craftsmanship!
